An environmental monitoring program is used to ensure the compliance of the project with the EIA requirements and all applicable environmental laws regulations and standards. The following monitoring programs are implemented during dredging and reclamation works at Gulhifalhu, in accordance with the Environmental Monitoring Program as stipulated in the Environmental Impact Assessment.

Water Quality
In-situ water quality monitoring is being conducted daily at the following locations around the dredging (in red) and reclamation (in yellow) areas, in accordance with EIA requirements. These locations were also monitored during the baseline of the EIA study.
Frequency: Daily
Parameters: Turbidity (Measure of the amount of sediment present in water), Temperature, pH, Conductivity
Water Quality Monitoring Sites
Sedimentation
Sediment traps are deployed at the following locations during dredging and reclamation activities, in accordance with EIA requirements. They are collected every two weeks, and results are reported after analysis in the laboratory. These locations were also monitored during the baseline of the EIA study.
